#8 – Santa Run

#8 – Santa Run

OK – I have to say it.  This run was my favorite.  Not to disparage or take anything away from the others but with this being in my hometown of Arlington Heights, the Santa costumes, and running it with some good friends really totaled up to being a great run.  Ran it with Bob Scislowski and Alan Washer.  This was Alan’s first 5K ever.  Bob ran them before and he’s much faster than me (yep, there my performance anxiety rears it’s ugly head again).

It’s so cool, too, to see all the Santa’s.  The costumes they give us aren’t the high quality ones the shopping mall Santa’s wear but they do make it fun!  There were some people with their own, high quality uniforms.  While it was cold out they still have to be pretty warm but they looked great!

What also was great was the amount of people along the route.  Many more than others and homes even blaring out Christmas music.  How could you not enjoy this run?!

Ran it is 30:11.  So at least my time came down a bit.  This was a pretty flat course.  A couple of of hills but not too bad.

Next run is the Rudolph Ramble in Chicago on December 11th.
